New Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless

20141213-234601.jpg

I popped in to CVS the other day and much to my surprise they had the new Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation and powder.  I haven’t seen it anywhere else yet so I bought it!  I purchased the foundation in 110 Porcelain and the powder in 100 translucent.  I was excited to try this because I have been looking to try another foundation.  I wore it for about 8 hours today and the claim on the packages says 12 hour wear for both.

So this is how I feel about it:

  • Nice, thick consistency
  • Great finish, wasn’t sticky or dry
  • Very broad range of shades
  • Blush stayed on with no fading
  • Minimal touch ups needed (only 1 about 6 hours in)

All in all it was totally worth my $8 and I will most definitely keep wearing it.  Have you tried it yet?  Is there another foundation I should try?  Thanks so much for stopping by!

First Impression-Physician’s Formula and So Susan

20141211-224848.jpg 20141211-224946.jpg

I decided to do something a little different and post what I did on my face today. I don’t wear make up every single day, but probably at least 3-4 times a week. I am gaining enough new products from my shopping adventures that I can try something new every day for a little while at least! So today I tried 3 new products: Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Talc Free Mineral Powder in Creamy Natural (a little too dark for me, it makes me look tan and I am so not tan), Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips in Warm Nude, and So Susan Universal Blush.

After I applied my foundation and concealer I set it with the Physician’s Formula Mineral Wear Powder.  I don’t know why I didn’t get Translucent or Translucent Fair but I thought it would be like a clear setting powder. Well, the Creamy Natural is just a little too tan for me. I am not sure what I am going to do: get a tan or buy another powder. Anyways, I then went ahead and highlighted my cheek bones, nose and forehead with the Shimmer Strips  which I was really happy with. It just gives you soft shimmery glow, not anything too glittery or sparkly.  And it’s great to bronze with or just highlight or you can use them as eye shadows. Then I tried my So Susan Universal Blush that I received in my GlossyBox this month. Do any of you get a GlossyBox or other beauty subscription service? I am in LOVE with this blush! I am not sure how much it retails for, it’s probably expensive, but I say SPLURGE if you can. It’s so very pretty and makes you have such a lovely glow. It’s THE PERFECT shade for me. It’s not too dark and not too pink. I love it, it’s great. I had never even heard of this brand before so I am really happy to have found it. I am pretty pleased with the new products I tried beside the fact the powder was too dark, it set my makeup really nicely and it isn’t cakey..or cake like. Have you tried any new products that I should check out? Comments are always appreciated!

Favorite Makeup Products (Right Now)

20141209-233009.jpg

I am consistently changing up my beauty routine and always trying new products. I just wanted to share a few of my favorites right now!

I am really loving Maybelline Dream Wonder Foundation right now.  I use 15 Ivory but it’s becoming too dark on my skin I think.  It feels really greasy and oily as you apply it but it sets into a really nice powder finish. You don’t need any powder to set and it glides on really smooth. I use my fingers but you can use a brush/beauty sponge if you’d rather.

e.l.f. Maximum Coverage Oil Free Concealer Porcelain- If you go back a few posts I wrote a blog post about this concealer. I love it! I use it all the time and love how it’s creamy and doesn’t crease. It makes me look more awake and really brightens my under eye area.

I love blush! On that note I am in love with e.l.f. Mellow Mauve. It’s a neutral color which I haven’t ever used before and I can’t stop using it. I apply it as if I were contouring with it and pop a highlighter on top of my cheek bones.  And you can see in that picture I have hit pan! Yay, another excuse to buy makeup!

Lipstick has never really been my thing, I was always a lip gloss gal. But, Revlon’s Super Lustrous Matte Lipstick changed all that. I bought Pink Pout from CVS a couple of weeks ago and I am so glad I did. I love how it applies and it’s a perfect neutral pink for my skin tone. I usually apply Revlon Colorburst lip gloss in Pink Ice over the top. That gloss is my all time favorite gloss and if they ever discontinue it I think it will be the end of me. It’s almost a perfect match to this M.A.C. Lipglass I had over ten years ago that was limited edition. Don’t you just hate limited edition or discontinued items? I wish they were there forever! Or in a warehouse for people like me who don’t like change and wear the same shade lip gloss forever. Anyways, those are my fav things right now, that I can’t go out of the house without. I keep changing up my mascara and eye shadows, nothing really consistent enough for me to write about. As always, hope you enjoyed and comments are welcome and appreciated!

E.L.F. Birthday Haul! (and a review!) Part 1

Happy Birthday to E.L.F.! E.L.F. had their 10th Birthday about a week ago and to celebrate they had a HUGE sale!  They had picked out a bunch of their bestsellers I think and some favorites and offered them at 50% off.  E.L.F. is already SUPER affordable and with this deal it got kinda crazy!  Plus if you spent $40 everything was shipped free.  So of course I spent $40 and got a really good amount of products.  First let’s start with the face!

Kabuki Brush…this brush is great!  I used it to apply foundation, powder, concealer, blush and highlighter and worked wonderfully.  If you want to know why I used one brush for everything check out this vlog.

High Definition Powder…I really like the way this set my foundation.  It went on very sheer and didn’t cake up or settle in my face.

Poreless Face Primer…this stuff is awesome!  It smells like tea tree oil and goes on like a cream! Love the way my skin felt and looked after using! Plus it didn’t make me breakout like so many primers do!

Acne Fighting Foundation…Nice very full coverage.  Very buildable and blends well.  Would for sure wear everyday.  Only cons are no SPF and the lightest color is still WAY too dark for my skin.  I just lighten it with a little Dreamtone.

BB Cream…here is the SPF!  I put this on under my foundation one day for an SPF and it was really nice.  This actually has really good coverage by itself and is light enough for my skin! Hurray!

Oil Free Maximum Coverage Concealer…Very buildable and blends very well.  I really like the packaging.  First you get a ton of product in a squeeze tube.  The color is a little pink which is nice to off set my dark circles.  This is just great, I will be buying it again in a year when I will run out because there is so much!!!!

I tried this stuff out for a couple days and I was pleasantly surprised.  It didn’t really settle or cake on my face and lasted all day.  It lasted through 110 degree weather, sweat, cleaning, babies cuddling, and everyday stuff.  I was very impressed and am so glad I gave it a shot.

I am breaking up this review into 3 parts because I got sooo much stuff and I have two little kiddos that can’t handle their mommy at a computer for 2 hours.  I am also sharing a picture below so you can see how the face makeup turned out.  In the pic I used everything listed above except for the BB Cream.  Hope you enjoyed this review!  If you liked it please share and if you have any question or tips please leave a comment!
